Was ist ENSIE?

The European Network for Social Integration Enterprises (ENSIE) was officially established in Bruges (Belgium) on May 11, 2001. Already for several years, exchanges between European networks for social integration enterprises have made it possible to identify the common fundamentals of these initiatives within the various nations of the European Union.
ENSIE takes for its objective the representation, maintenance, and development within the European Union of networks and federations for economic social integration in Europe.

ENSIE takes for its objective:
1. to reinforce the power of the actors in economic social integration enterprises through the interchange between the member organisations,
2. to stimulate co-operation and partnerships by promoting proper practices, research results, new applications,
3. to organise the exchange of information on the legislative national and local policy levels between member organizations,
4. to represent the network and to promote all of its activities on all pertinent European levels,
5. to elaborate on the contributions and propositions in order to participate in the definition of a European policy against social exclusion,
6. to develop a close and solid collaboration with other European networks active in the social economy with the objective of obtaining synergetic results.

The Social Integration Enterprises:
The identifying principles of the Social Integration Enterprises are:
1. Enterprises whose social objective is social integration and citizenship.
2. Enterprises at the core of the economic system.
3. Enterprises of a strong pedagogigcal dimension.

The social enterprise fighting against exclusion through social and professional inclusion.
The project helpes to build a data base on the WISE (Work Integration Social Enterprises) in Europe. The results are available on the following web site:

IRSIE: Industrial Relations in the Social Integration Economy
The project aims to elaborate national/regional studies on the different answers brought to the problem of the industrial relations within the Social Integration Economy. Industrial relations are those at the heart of the economic and social organisation of the European countries. They organise the link among the social inegration enterprise, the workers, the social partners, the civil society, the public authorities and the conventional economy. For more information:
